Jovan Tucakov
He was born in Curug on January24th 1905. He was a worldwide known expert, the founder of pharmacognosy and also the member of the Serbian Academy of Science and Art. He was the honorable doctor of the University in Clermont- Ferrand and the winner of the medal of Lavoisier University, the founder and the manager of the Institute for the Research of the Medicinal Herbs „Dr. Josif Pancic“.


Lazar Pacu
He was born in Curug on March 1st 1855. He was the first minister of finance in Kingdom of Serbia. He was known as a very stingy person, but that was also the reason why the state budget had grown rapidly during his three terms as minister. He was a doctor by his occupation, who received his doctor’s degree in Berlin with the thesis about the rheumatic illnesses.
